Far Hills Ranch has been the Suslands’ beloved Wyoming home for more than a century. But with it has come the legend of a family curse. Now, according to the legend, the current far-flung Suslands are the last with a chance to lift the curse . . . whether they believe in it or not.
To fulfill the legend’s demands, these cousins must face personal challenges and risk their hearts, all for the sake of A Place Called Home.
Book 1 Lost and Found Groom
On assignment in distant Santa Estella, hardheaded journalist Kendra Jenner finds herself in the middle of a vicious hurricane . . . and unexpectedly in the arms of a stranger who speaks virtually no English. Fear leads to passion that months later leads to a baby, which Kendra fully expects to raise on her own, since her search for the father is a fruitless one.
Three years later, "Paulo" shows up at her Wyoming home, identifying himself as Daniel Delligati. He says he's come for his son -- and for her.
Book 2 At the Heart's Command
Colonel John Griffin Jr. is a good and honorable soldier, determined to protect Ellyn Sinclair at all costs – especially from himself.
Once, he’d rejected a young Ellyn’s advances, because he could not give her the life she deserved. Instead, Grif stood up as best man when Ellyn married his best friend. Then, he became a member of the family, godfather to her children. But now Ellyn is a widow, back in Far Hills with her two young children, and having a tough time. And no matter what it costs him, Grif will do his duty. To the Army – and to help Ellyn and her children, while ignoring that he has never stopped wanting her.
Book 3 Hidden in a Heartbeat
Rebecca Dahlgren comes to Far Hills Ranch hoping for answers to her unknown heritage. But from the first moment, she finds foreman Luke Chandler hard to miss. The sexy cowboy with the sleepy eyes that aren't interested in sleeping means just the sort of trouble her patrician grandmother has always warned about.
Luke has his own reasons for wanting to steer clear of anything like commitment. But the secrets behind Rebecca’s dark eyes keep luring him on … even if it means baring his own heart.

Each book features another of a group of people on this ranch. I would have preferred a little less details on the sex scenes but I have certainly seen books worse (some that were supposed to be for teens). I don't remember much profanity (There have been many books I've read since) so it wasn't terrible. You really want to see the h & h get together. Good romance novels.Product details

A Place Called Home Trilogy Boxed Set 3 Books in 1 edition by Patricia McLinn Romance eBooks Reviews
I thought it was interesting, if rather far-fetched. The heroine's dramatics got to be somewhat ridiculous.. she was too conflicted with herself for being as educated as she was.. he had reason for his.. She didn't have as much. I can't imagine the beginning to be believable.
The child Matthew was realistic and cute...her friends were her anchors, which was lucky for her. Not all people are as fortunate..
Now I know what people mean when they say that patty McLinn's characters live and breathe. It's not so much that they themselves are that real or that they were based on real people she knows. But it's the fact that the emotions and struggles they face are real. Like Ellyn's insecurities, baby Matthew's confusion, Rebecca's anguish at her grandmother keeping things from her. Those emotions are so relatable and raw that more often than not I found myself ad libbing a response to a comment one of the characters made. Fantastic series.
This was the second Series I have read by this author. I really enjoyed the stories. And the history. I just loved it. Prior go my kindle. I mostly bought books by my favorite authors. And now getting free inexpensive books to start the theologies. It has brought me to a whole new world of authors. I think the next t set I buy will be the wedding series. Thank you. Patricia for great storytelling. The first series I read was Wyoming wildflowers. Which was also wonderful.
Enjoyed reading this series of three romances with more. More depth, more characters, more intrigue. Each novel is a separate story about a couple who met, fall in love, and finally get together. However, this is wrapped up in the history and relationships of an extended family, each with ties to a large western ranch--a ranch with a legend. Author McLinn manages to keep the separate threads woven together throughout the three novels, until wrapping it all up in a satisfactory ending. Recommended.
I couldn't decide on 4 or 5 stars. A classic Romance story is a little out of my usual genre. I really enjoyed the writing. It was easy to get lost in the little world she built in Wyoming. No danger, no suspense, just real life and decisions. It did have emotion, fun moments and wraps up in a nice bow at the end of book 3.
This trilogy tells the story of a Wyoming ranching family and the legend surrounding that family. The first owner of the ranch was married to an Indian woman and had two children with her. He leaves them to die on the reservation and takes a rich white woman as his wife. This first wife tells him his white family will not flourish unless his descendants right the wrongs he has done. Many tragedies befall each generation of his descendants. The three novels are contemporary romances involving his three remaining descendants in the fifth generation. These are three delightful romances with rich characterizations. The three couples each have to overcome different problems and the love they have for each other rights one of the wrongs of their ancestor. The love the family members have for one another and the way they interact with each other leads the reader to want to be a member of the family.
I really enjoyed reading this series. Although it's located in Wyoming, it feels like it's applicable to any one of us. All 3 stories had their ups and downs, and all the characters are unique and different.
Kendra is trying to do what's best for her small family of 2. When Daniel shows up at her doorstep she is blindsided by all the questions. But in the end, she manages to give him a chance to explain what happened all those years ago...and it's well worth to read along.
In the second book we meet Grif- a successful, but lonely army colonel and Ellyn, who is a widow with 2 young kids. They each fight their demons, but also the feelings that kept them close all the years of their lives. Will they manage to overcome the past? will they have a chance for a future together? For sure it was one of my favorite stories. Sometimes it really takes another person to convince us of our strengths.
The 3rd book was very good, but different from all the rest. It's nice to be able to take glimpses at the lives of the characters from book 1 and 2 through Luke's and Rebecca's eyes. They both feel very attracted to each other, and they both have reasons to try not to follow those instincts.
But faith has a funny way around things. They end up spending time together, getting to know each other and there is no denying of the feelings they have.
Good romance novels.
